Park Board Drops the Ball with the Vancouver Aquarium

killer whales and vancouver aquariumThe Vancouver Park Board has decided that the the Vancouver Aquarium plays a large enough role in the scientific community that its cetecean research should continue. Although whales and dolphins will still be kept in captivity, the aquarium breeding program will end.

The issue of the tanks and alternate forms of habitat such as sea pens for the existing belugas who cannot be released is still up in the air. This is one major point that the Park Board has failed to address. You dropped the ball park board, this was your chance to send a message to all aquariums around the world.
